Parks to Check out in the City of Port Moody

Port Moody has plenty of recreation and nature parks to boast of. From the mountain trails to the waterfront, every community has a park -no matter how big or small. Here are the top five parks to try every weekend.

Rocky Point Park is the city’s best known park and a popular tourist destination as well. This 3.8 hectare waterfront park with an array of amenities such as hiking and biking trails, outdoor pool, recreational pier, boat launch and fountains. Food establishments, wildlife and artists-at-work can also be found around the park. This park is located at 2800 Block Murray Street.

Easthill Park at the corner of Prince and Union Streets is a 5.3-hectare neighborhood park which includes hiking trails, playground, soccer fields, tennis court and basketball courts.

Aspenwood Park at 2001 Panorama Dr includes sports fields and trails around Aspenwood Elementary School. Also found here is the Heritage Mountain Community Center, a popular facility for big events such as weddings and conferences.

Heritage Mountain Park is perfect for little children. It features a tot lot separated on top of a hill and a large double sports field below for teens and adults. The local elementary school also maintains a playground behind the school building.

Tidal Park this 33.6-hectare, protected area consists of tidal flats combined into a shoreline park. This is home to several species of marine, birds and other animals. Stream-bound salmons are also found passing though the tidal flats and inlet. This park is perfect for bird watching, meditation, hiking and nature photography.

Want to have an event in a park?

City of Port Moody Parks Division* requires events with 50 people or more to request permission from their office before using any park facilities. The park manager will review

your request and will remind you of the parks’ rules and regulations. However, permission does not guarantee a specific spot or shelter reserved for your group. If the spot is already occupied by other park goers, then you have to find other spots suitable. Parking is limited so better plan well ahead of the event. This is applicable for weddings, family reunions or other outdoor activities.
